Amounts are in US dollars, excluding any sales tax or VAT your jurisdiction adds, which Polar handles as merchant of record. An organization on a paid plan keeps sending events up to 110% of its step before ingest stops.
Questions about the bill.
- What counts as an event?
- Every accepted ingest event:
page,track,identify,alias,error,metric,vitalandsession, counted at admission for the whole organization per calendar month in UTC. A rejected or rate-limited event is not counted. - What happens when I go over?
- Free stops at 100% of its 10,000 events, and the rest are discarded rather than billed. Starter and Business get a 10% grace band and then stop until the next month or an upgrade, so nothing is ever charged automatically for an overage.
- How do I change plan or cancel?
- A change is a new checkout at the new amount, and the old subscription is revoked when the new one becomes active. Cancelling from the Polar customer portal takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, after which the organization returns to the Free limits and nothing is deleted.
- Who issues the invoice, and what about tax?
- Polar is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles sales tax or VAT for your country. Every invoice is in the Polar customer portal, linked from Organization → Plan and usage.
